Mayver's spread review

Nut butter is a a staple item in any vegan pantry, and we make sure ours is always stocked with the best! Mayver's are our go-to for nut/seed spreads, and we think their products deserve a thorough review. So without further a do, let's get into it!

Let's start by saying we appreciate the enormous range of products they have (including 13 different types of peanut butter - wow!). They are all available at most Coles and Woolworths nationwide and even at some good independents, so nice and easy to find. For this review, we will focus on our current three faves:

1. Unhulled Tahini

2. Original Super Spread

3. Organic Peanut Cacao Spread

We love how Mayver's are all about adding wholesome, healthy ingredients to their spreads and encouraging people to steer away from buying products with nasty additives. There are no added oils and sugars in their spreads, sometimes only roasted peanuts and that's it! All of their products are 100% Australian made and include nuts and seeds grown in Australia - and we are all for supporting locally made products.

There's nothing worse than dry, crumbly nut butter where the oil has separated so much that you have to break your wrist to get it back to a good consistency. Well that isn't the case with Mayver's. We cannot fault the smooth, easy to stir consistency of these three spreads (featured below).

The unhulled tahini is extra smooth and perfect for drizzling over some morning oats, the super spread is glorious on a slice of fruit toast and the peanut cacoa spread is great for dipping (or eating straight from the jar). All three have great health benefits (such as a source of dairy-free calcium in the unhulled tahini), contain no hardened fats and are sugar-free! Each of these spreads are reasonably affordable, with number 1 coming in at $5.30 (385g), number 2 at $6.50 (280g) and number 3 at $6.00 (375g). We think that's pretty good considering the healthy, all-natural ingredients!
