'I Pastai' Quinoa and Sun-dried Tomato Vegan Ravioli Review

We're usually the ones to make our own ravioli fresh (or eat our Nonna's) but when we found this brand of fresh vegan ravioli at our local Woolies, we had to give it a try!

We paired these delicious ravioli with a rich bolognese sauce made with 'veggie delight' savoury mince, our Nonna's fresh tomato sauce, some cherry tomatoes and spinach. A great lazy dish that you can whip up in 15 minutes while still being incredibly filling and tasty!

We love how the filling contains healthy ingredients and also appreciate the wide vegan range that I Pastai has. For having fresh and gourmet ingredients, we think it's totally worth the $7.50! The only downfall is the texture and lack of salt in the filling... however this isn't much of a problem if you add a really flavoursome sauce like we did.

PROS:

  • Cooks in under 5 minutes

  • Thin, smooth authentic pasta dough

  • Good size - perfectly bite sized

  • Reasonably priced at $7.50 (Woolworths) for two serves

  • Healthy plant based ingredients and no nasty preservatives

CONS:

  • Filling texture is rather 'pasty' and hard

  • Some of the filling fell out easily after removing from the water

  • Filling lacked salt

Overall we rate this product a 3.5/5

It is definitely worth trying, but we still recommend adding a rich sauce and topping generously with vegan parmesan to make up for the lack of flavour in the filling.
