A Vegan's Guide to IKEA

IKEA: The promised land to some, a nightmare for others. But either way, the swedes do know how to deliver some mean vegan goods. Here is your plant-based guide to finding some hidden gems in IKEA's food market.

Openly Vegan Products

  • (1) ALLEMANSRÄTTEN Vegetable Meatballs - You can check out our review of these bad boys

  • (2) LÖRDAGSGODIS Vegan Sweet Jellies - Geletin free gummies are incredibly hard to find, so these treasures are vegan gold! They come in raspberry, cranberry and forest fruit variations

Hidden Gems

  • (3) POTATISCHIPS GRÄDDFIL & LÖK Sour cream and onion potato chips - A bloody mouthful but vegan sour cream?!

  • (4) MUNSBIT Oat smoothie - These come in an apple & pear or blackcurrant blueberry flavour

  • (5) SJÖRAPPORT Seaweed Pearls - So this stuff is basically vegan caviar. I repeat, you may now purchase vegan caviar at your local IKEA

  • (6) KAFFEREP Biscuits - *only the almond, natural raspberry filling, ginger thins, ginger thins with almonds, and oat biscuits are vegan*

  • (7) RÖSTI Potato fritters - Pretty much a fancier version of hashbrowns. And gluten free too!

Basics/Staples

  • (8) KNÄCKEBRÖD RÅG Rye Crispbread - Quite plain, I must admit, but perfection when topped some avo, vegan cheese, or even your new seaweed pearls

  • (9) MÜSLI Muesli with berries

  • (10) CHOKLAD MÖRK Dark chocolate - "UTZ certified cacao: ensures sustainable farming standards and good conditions for workers"

  • (11) MUNSBIT Assorted Nuts

  • (12) ROSTAD LOK Fried Onions - To sprinkle on anything and everything
